Birds in a Changing World: Killing birds: Scientists?

A scientist collects one pretty kingfisher and the whole internet goes crazy:


  1. Now there is Fukushima. Even more species are dying off, 'cause of nuclear radiation exposure. We need to be more wise as humans, in taking care of the environment.

    Has radiation from Fukishima actually threatened any species with extinction? If so, I'd be interested to read about it if you can link an article.
    Energy production is all about trade-offs and my impression is that on the whole the environmental impacts of nuclear power are relatively minor compared to, say, mountain-top removal coal mining.
